How do wsop satellites work
If they're stealing themselves, then it's okay to resteal against them. They will only be able to call with the very best of their range and will often be forced to fold pre-flop. In super-satellite play, if your goal is to earn a seat at the end of the tournament, what size of stack do you need?
Well, it boils down to a magic number. To get that number, calculate the entire number of chips in play multiply the number of players entered by the amount of the starting stack and divide the total chips by the number of seats to be awarded. Once you hit that magic number it's time to coast. Take that "tight is right" motto and live by it.
You should be playing in super-rock mode. There's no reason to risk a good portion of your chips. If the situation is the least bit marginal, just fold. Maintain this stack by stealing once an orbit just to keep up with the rising blinds. Regardless of your holdings don't get involved in a big pot if you have enough chips to win a seat and it's late in the tournament. If someone shoves in front of you and you have A-K and are way ahead of his range, but calling and losing will put you out of the seat range, fold.
Remember, if you've attained your magic number, you're pretty much golden. Don't sabotage yourself by sherriffing up some cowboy making a run on your table.
In a multiple-package tournament winning is irrelevant. You're playing to get past the bubble. It makes no difference to you if you have one chip or one million chips when the bubble bursts.
As long as you're still in it, you win a package. Collect enough chips to make the bubble and you've as good as won. In fact when the bubble draws near it's common for the chip leaders to refuse to play any hand - including aces - to coast on their large stack into an assured win. On the other hand, when the bubble draws near the majority of the field will tighten up and hope to avoid confrontation until they make it through. If your stack isn't large enough to coast through the bubble you need to take this opportunity to pick up as many chips as you can.
When the other players are looking to fold you should be looking to steal as often as you can get away with. Being the chip leader in a tournament like this is nice but unnecessary. Your goal is to keep an eye on the bubble and make estimates as to what size of stack is needed to make it through.
As long as you have any chips in play when the bubble has burst, you've won. Small-ball poker is much more common in multiple-package tournaments than in Winner Takes All ones. Although it's possible to win a package without ever being involved in a huge pot, chances are you're going to need to come out on top of multiple coin flips just to keep yourself in enough chips to make it.
Choose your spots wisely, and try to be the aggressor, rather than the caller. Being the aggressor will at least give you a chance to win through your opponent folding. But in the end you're most likely going to have to win a flip or two: good luck! Play Here. Dreams are dealt on daily basis. And no matter who you are, there's always a seat waiting for you.

Same concept with getting into the last satellite late on Saturday. I recently started buying-in late again. For a while, I started reverting back to the old me and buying-in early. Not good. Other benefits include having time to go for hikes, go to the gym, go swimming, write these articles, and eat sandwiches.
But, remember, poker satellites are different. Speaking of early…. In the beginning of satellite tournaments, you only want to play premium poker hands. Let others do that. The key to satellite tournaments is the middle of the tournament. This is where you either accumulate chips and chill the heck out so you can coast to a golden ticket or get short-stacked and have to make a decision to play tight or go for a double-up. You should stick to your style of play to a degree, but if you want some help, here are some examples… If you have 10 BB or less and everyone folds to you from late middle position on, jam it.
This is a no-brainer for poker satellites. If you fail, so be it. You went out swinging. There are several reasons for this. One, this player raised from an early poker position , which means he probably has AJ beat. A medium stack is NOT going to take any unnecessary risks from early position with five players remaining to get the golden ticket. He likely has QQ or better.
There is another player at the table with 7 BBs. Everyone else has a bigger stack. Only one player needs to bust for you to get the golden ticket. A big stack open-raised from the button to put you all-in. You have AK.
